There's a new reason to linger at the Inn. We're now serving a selection of seasonal boards at The Marlene and Bar Madonna — built for sharing, made to pair with our French wines, and changing with the season.
The boards
The Tinned Fish Board. Garlic and chili smoked mussels, smoked mackerel in olive oil, salted butter, accoutrements, and warm bread. If you've never made a meal of tinned fish and a glass of white Burgundy, consider this your invitation. You’ll be transported right to the South of France.
The Charcuterie Board. A selection of three seasonal cured meats and two cheeses, with accoutrements and warm bread.
The Cheese Board. Three seasonal cheeses from our friends at Houston Dairymaids, with accoutrements and sourdough.
Boards run $28–$34 and are available whenever the bar is open. The selections rotate with the season, so what's on the board next month may not be what's on it today.
Three ways to enjoy them
In the garden. Order a board and a glass of French wine and settle into the garden. It's the kind of slow afternoon The Marlene does best.
During Jazz Sunday. Every Sunday from 3 to 6pm, the band plays at Bar Madonna — and a board on the table is the perfect accompaniment. Graze, sip, stay a while.
Up to your room. Staying with us? Call or text the dedicated guest line, or stop by the bar, and we'll bring a board up to your room. A cheese board and a nightcap in a 1910 mansion isn't a bad way to end an evening in Houston.
